I'm curious, what alloy of titanium is used on the Rem 700 Ti's reciever?

Do you know anything about metals bud? Straight titanium's not useful in all that many things.

Hey, I had searched for that info way back but wasn't that curious so never found out the answer. IIRC, Rem says their 105 CTi 's receiver is made from aircraft grade aluminum, aka Ti-6/4. 90%Ti 6%Al 4%V. My SWAG is Ti-6/4 [probably STA] for the 700 also because there is no real need for super grade material in a receiver . Unless they actually say what it is, it's just a guess.

Not a metalurgist and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either.

Ahaha Well thanks Rob, I figured it was most likely 6Al-V4, was curious if they'd stepped it up to something better. I think I'll try asking big green themselves as well, can't hurt.
