I'm curious

OK, this thread has run its course, and it appears to confirm my observations: a remarkably small number of people peruse the subforums like this one, and fewer still take the time to respond to posts. Straightforward questions get the most responses, and anything else kind of falls to the side. This creates a bit of a negative loop, as why bother to take the time to write something substantial, if no one reads it? I don't fault lurkers; I wish there were plenty more of them! (Thanks to those who chimed in here.) With fewer posts of substance, there is less readership, and so on. I'm not convinced it will change anytime soon.

Membership is way up there and has been said a lot of older members don't post as much anymore, me included. Still a top gun site but less sense of community or so it seems to me. There have been many threads gone south and locked by moderators owing to guys who just want to fight and launch personal attacks. Didn't used to be that way. Or maybe I'm just an old grouch? Haha

I haven't been posting as much as I did in the past. It's summer time and there is so much to do. Today, it's pouring rain and I have time to catch up on my reading and make a post or two.

Pinfire you're posts are a treasure and a joy to read. Please continue to post them with pictures.
It may not seem like much of a community here some days but I've seen members of this site go out of their way to help others. I know I've sent items to members who required them when I no longer did. I've also recieved items and advise for free or for substantial discounts. I've had a fellow cgn member send me parts I couldn't locate for a rifle and once he found out I was living in the sick kids hospital with my daughter he refused to accept payment. I've paid that instance forward several times. So I do believe there's a solid community here. As to the actual size I don't know.
I do know I've made some great friends from cgn get togethers like the annual sxs shoot and others from invitations to shoot at my local club.

There will always be cheats and losers that's just the way if the world but I truly believe if a regular poster here needed a hand someone on here would be willing to help them. Maybe it's just the nature of gunnies as individual character traits. Maybe it is the sense of community of like minded ppl. Either way it's a good thing
