I,ll be getting my income tax return very soon and will definatly be getting a new hand gun .
and heers the confusion .
im considering the XD.40 ,5 inch tactical and the glock22 or glock 20 .
the things that attract me to the XD are the price is cheaper than glock,i like the 40 cal because i think its got suficiant power for the shooting i want to do and ammo is available i also should mention i do want to reload and im assuming the XD has a fully supported chamber .this is a advantage over glocks ,for reloading purposes .
I also think the XD is more accurate with the standard 5 inch barrel .
the only concern i have whith the XD is durability .
I hear the locking blocks crack and break with not that much use at all and i want to shoot alot ,like 500-1000 rounds a month in the summer anyways.
im not conserned with rust or the finish ,just durability ,and the fact that springfeild might still have bugs to work out as its not been out that long yet
now with the glocks ,i have a glock 17 -9MM i can shoot the thing just about forever and i think its 100% reliable and almost indestructable ,i belive they have worked out all the bugs and thus resulted in (perfection)but they dont have the fully supported chamber in there stock barrel .
I do reload for my glock 17 and i dont get any case bulgeing at all but i dont think the 40 cartride in the glock 22 will be so lucky regarding reloads.
now i can buy a aftermarket barrel from kkm precision or jarvis or barsto and have no conserns at all with the glock at all regarding relyability durability or accuracy.
but if i have to do this ill get the glock 20 in 10 MM and get the kkm 6 inch .40 conversion .
So it boils down to this . i rilly like the XD 40 and if it has a fully supported chamber and i can count on the thing not falling to peices id like to save alot of $ as im sure all my other interests will be met(accuracy and such.
if not ill stay with the glock at what ever the cost
