Funny packing story from when I was a platoon commander at a recruit training depot in the British Army. A colleague taking his recruits on "Trench Week" the next morning left the mess bar very, very drunk, saying he had to pack for exercise... A week later he came back and reported that the next night, sober but badly hungover he found he was curiously equipped with a hair dryer and a chess set, but no sleeping bag.

So my tip is be sober when you pack.

I am assuming you're setting up a good sized camp. I'd bring lots of potable water, spare batteries, a radio, swede saw or chain saw, spare fuel, lantern, stove, lots of spare socks and underwear, and most importantly... moist towellettes...

If you're trekking it, think 85/15 rule -you're only carrying 15% spare gear if that and the rest is tent, sleeping bag, rations, water, cooking gear and rifle. Don't forget the towellettes!

Bullets. Lotsa bullets. Good idea to pack the gun. And a spare gun and a back up gun. Flashlight and batteries. Extra scopes. Few knives. Hatchet. Axe. Waterproof matches. Bug spray. Lighters flints. Steel wool. Gun oil. Condoms. Flares. Cell phone. Appropriate clothing extra socks and boots. Fuel. And most importantly someone to help drag the moose out

Love it!!!!! This man knows how to hunt R:d:

make sure you have a sturdy, sharp knife, guns, ammo, spare clothes and a good sleeping bag. A durable coffee mug is also required for the road whiskey that cant be forgotten.

Dont forget to bring a shotgun for ducks and other birds.

A fishing rod with some cheap lures... theres pike every where and some walleye jigs....

Feel youre list is getting bigger already?...:)
