im going on a hunting trip and im bringing a......

Gps, 4wheeler, small boat and an outboard that works, our worked great at home, as soon as we tried it up there it was dead, had to row out on the lake, I love the drywear from marks work world, very warm and keeps you dry!

Game bags, compass, Garmin Rino, Binoculars, Lighter in a Ziploc bag with some fire starters, trail mix (Bulk Barn is your friend), tooth brush and toothpaste, string for tying off the anus while field dressing, game seal and outdoors card (I once saw a guy bring only his validation sticker for his game seal), portable treestand and screw in steps, Rum and honey for making hot totties (after dark), folding cot and pillow, chain hoist for hanging your moose, Advil, Robaxacet, Sudafed, First Aid Kit, Jaegermeister (only to be used for celebratory purposes)

I built a 150 item checklist on excel. I list every single item I will take.

I break it down into sub-categories: menu stuff; camp gear; hunting equip; ATV equip etc...

I maintain it, edit it, add & subtract items as I find necessary. It has evolved over years and multiple hunts.
When I find I'm taking something I do not need, I drop it, or add something I find I shoulda taken.

It's the only way to travel. Never forget a thing!

It might be a good idea to have a map, a compass and a GPS if you're going into the back country. Take fire starter in case you experience wet conditions and a small torch for starting fires. At least one axe and an axe file, and a small bow saw. A spare pair of boots and lots of wool socks. Wool underwear and good quality rain gear or if you're going farther north, a parka might be prudent. Gloves and mitts. Hand warmers. A quality flashlight and spare batteries.

What size/make of axe do you recommend?

A decent first aid kit with whatever you take for pain meds, and some immodium. Also lots of beer and some duct tape.

GPS & compass.
Clothes that can handle a 20C temp swing.
Quality rain suit - top and bottom.
Rubber boots with 2 sets of felt inserts.
Spare tire - more than the one.
Half decent at least binoculars - I first spotted a bull at approx 800-900 meters last year.
Day pack.
