i was wondering if there was someone out there that could help me with the trigger kit install. I can remove the stock parts out just fine but I run into problems when I get to installing the new hammer and hammer spring.
If you have the new plastic trigger group you may not be able to install the VQ set-up.
You can tell if you have the new (no after market parts fit) model by taking apart the trigger mech.
If the hammer has 2 removeable washer/sleeve units on it then you are ok, its a direct replacement.
If you have the new fangled non removeable washer/sleeve hammer..... you sir are boned......
The first plastic trigger groups that came out had the "old" model of hammer..... all the ones coming off the line now have the one piece units that you can't currently replace with aftermarket stuff.
I personally think that this is BS.... Ruger IMO is trying to force the guys in the after market to redesign their stuff, which will make the costs of those parts go up, which makes it less likely for us to buy it..... BS
I assume that since you can remove/replace the factory mechanism, but the VQ unit will not go in there that you have the new trigger unit...... All you can do is find a older model trigger assembley or buy an aftermarket trigger assembley...
Pics would help a bunch......
