Im looking for a good lever action for big game (moose mostly) in a reasonable price range

The Browning BLR has been a very popular choice for lever shooters for decades and will be a a long time. It offers much of which a bolt gun would offer in easy scope mounting, an excellent mag system and modern cartridges in a strong action with pointy bullets. While I have never been much of a lever fan at all, a BLR in 308 would give up nothing to a bolt gun and would be an excellent choice for the OP.
 
I haven’t read every post in the thread, so maybe this has already been mentioned, but if your expected shot ranges are relatively short to close, then a Marlin 1895 might scratch your itch.

I recently swapped out the XS Ghost ring on mine for a 1-8X scope as I find iron sights harder and harder to use, the older I get.

A BLR in 308Win was my first hunting rifle. A Bull Moose and 10pt Whitetail to its credit, it got moved along after a 1/2doz yrs for something of longer range capabilities (7mmRM) based on needs at the time.

Looking back I should’ve kept it, Looking forward if i was in the market for a “modern lever” i’d buy another in .308 in a heartbeat. An older mid-late eighties aged one would suit me just fine.
 
I killed my very first deer with a Browning BLR chamberd in the 308 Winchester. I'm sure it will kill moose as well.
