Hi, I looking for a WEB site. Where have a machine the hight pressure loading test. The site sale a machine, with an interface pietzo, where it's possible, with a labtop, to see the pressure in the chamber.

Do you know what I mean !

There are two main types of electronic pressure measurement; strain gauge and direct.

Strain gauge is much cheaper and does not require a pressure gun.
 
This is awesome, I have been thinking about getting loads for my antique guns tested but didn't know how it could be done. Thanks 350 Mag.
 
RSI works good

I've got the RSI setup set up and am quite happy with it. It seems to work good. Sometimes the capture is a bit flaky if the connection moves due to recoil, so it needs to be taped down good. Their chronograph is quite good also. Very very easy to use. I've installed it on 223, 308 and 45-70, this afternoon a gauge is going on a 6.5x55 swede also.

The only challenge is to get the strain gauges glued on with out making a total mess and not gluing your fingers to the barrel.
 
After a closer look it doesn't look like this works on octagonal barrels or revolvers. :(
 
Revolvers, you are correct it won't easily work; it would be an ugly setup and would require post-capture processing of the data. Octagonal barrels, it think it would work, but you would need to input a pseudo barrel diameter that represents an equivalent circular diameter. Basically a barrel diameter something between the dimension measured between the flats and that distance measured between the opposite vertexes of the octagon. Not sure how accurate it would be though :confused:

It would be interesting to try the same load measured in similar guns but with differrent barrel shapes.
 
One guy online in a search said you have to know the metal composition of the gun, is this correct? You also need to meaure the chamber, is this correct as well, so I am assuming that's why it needs to be round?
