Hi guys, wasn't sure what the appropriate thread was, and 'off topic' was 'off limits', so here's my "introduction" to my new word. Hopefully it catches on.

Heard the phrase: "With friends like those you don't need enemies"? Well, its a based lightly on that... here's the etymology:

Wendy+Enemy= Wenemy.

Usage: People who are 'pro' gun ownership when it comes to 'hunting', but can't understand why anyone would need a black rifle. They are our 'wenemies'.

Or handgun shooters who don't appreciate airgungeeks. They are our 'wenemies'.

Or shotgun guys who dislike pistol shooters. They are our 'wenemies'.

Wenemies can take many forms, but the result is always the same.

Divisiveness amongst a portion of- or the whole of- the firearms community is either their direct goal or a direct result of their actions.

Wenemies are borne of ignorance and / or arrogance.

Wenemies suck.

Let me summarize my feelings with a picture I created for a different thread yesterday...worth a thousand words as they say. The first is merely for comparison.

I think it would really be "tongue-in-cheek" if you did her in a "teenage mutant ninja turtle" style!:D

Probably the wrong site for this debate but what the heck, let's weigh in. Your analogy is probably right on the money coast to coast.
I am not really a political activist but let's face it, at the last election there
where a lot of us paying attention. My son had just started shooting, an absolute natural who loves the game. It was our thing, just the boy's. All
the working father's out there can attest to the fact that they grow up to fast so any quality time we can squeeze in is golden. On top of that, in Oct/05 my son qualified as the youngest IPSC shooter in Ontario........
There was no way I was going to let a narrow minded government take this away from us. So I got involved and to my surprise I very quickly saw the seperation of gun owner's. Her we were in the fight of our lives (or prefered
pastimes) and split right down the middle. We are involved with a number of F&G clubs and here are the long gun owner's saying 'They arn't coming after us so let's just leave it alone or we'll just make them mad' My intention is not to trash all long gun owner's as I am one as well BUT this conversation happened too many times. We are one group and black, white, green or blue, we need to band together.

If this ain't the place for debate? Where is? Rant on. Tell people what you've heard and what you think, and if they don't like it they'll tell ya. Maybe you'll have an argument. If you win, they may have learned something, maybe you will. Maybe this picture will piss some people off. Who cares? I like it. (Oleg Volks a genious)

There aren't a lot of these crazy Anti's out there... they are not as strong as Windy makes out. If we could actually pull ourselves together....
If you see those snobs again, call em a Wenemy. Maybe you'll have to explain it, and maybe it'll make em think.

I like the term Wenemy! I may just have to use it in conversation.

And yes, it probably should have gone in Off Topics, for the simple reason that a lot of the regulars do not go to Intro/Newbie, so they would not see your post.

If you cannot post in OT, it is a simple matter to apply for it.
In the upper left of the screen is User CP. click on it, then at the bottom of the drop down list, find Group Memberships.
