I wonder if while they were contemplating "the science" of the suppressor they gave a moment's though to the implications of bolting a suppressor together from two halves? My bet is that thing wouldn't stand up to more than a mag or two of FA fire before it became a high speed real life exploded diagram of the Aerosonic Suppressor?

We weld suppressors together from high grade seamless tubing in order to make them lightweight and as strong as possible and even then most 556 cans weigh between 16 and 25 oz (1-1.5 lbs). The extra weight penalty imposed by bolting a can together and the inherent weakness in having two lengthwise seams in the tube demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the forces involved in this kind of device.
