I watched from afar for months....(was it years???) and said nah, I got one, why would you want another....

Then they came in, something inside stirred.....and I caved. :bangHead:

Although I have had a 1967 Norinco for a number of years, there is something about owning an 'original' so I bought a Russian. Got a nice unissued 1953 Tula, a dang purdy rifle.

Sorry for the pics, photography is one shooting sport I don't practice.

But its nice to be part of the club now!

Teapot you meanie.....has my wife been talking to you? I never sold my poor old Norinco, it is my 'winter' service rifle. But how can it not take a backseat to a real SKS now??

Thanks, the stock is very 'red'

Hey, a real SKS is an SKS. It is like saying our Poodle shooting C7A2 is not a real M-16 just because it is made in Cnada. No, your Norinco SKS is just as much SKS as your Soviet carbine. A lee Enfield made in the various ordnance factories in the far-flung Empire are just as much a Lee Enfield as the rifles made at Enfield; think of our venerable Canadian rifles made at the plant in Lomgbranch.
Congratulations on your purchase. Truth be told I am a little envious.

Yea you're right Teapot, so maybe the better analogy is that the cool member of the family showed up to the party.

I still have to get mine all broken down and cleaned up. Funny thing is, now that I have an unissued SKS, for some reason I am dragging my feet on doing anything because its sat around in that condition for 56 years. And thats sorta neat.
