I'm SO Ticked. Need a Partner Opening Week?

My long time Deer hunting partner has bailed out on me at the last minute, We made plans three weeks ago to meet and hunt at his
Father in-laws as we have for the last 4 years. I called him several times this weekend to confirm plans but he wouldn't answer his cell phone It's an 8 hour drive for me to Dauphin. So 10 minutes before I'm ready to go, I phone his wife's number after tracking it down and he tells me some story about he booked the wrong week off, He doesn't want to pass up overtime, his Father in-law is having a big birthday party this weekend and their is people already staying at the house, Blah, Blah, Blah He has been Unreliable in the past but this is a new low. SO If anybody In Manitoba is looking for a Deer hunting Partner during Opening week PM me

I had something very similar happen to me, long story short I'm getting ready to leave tonight to a place I have never been to hunt a parcel of land I have yet to see........Wish me luck!

Man I hate to sound unsympathetic but I've been in the same situation.What I learned from that was to not count on anybody else.I'll make plans to hunt with buddies but if it falls through,I'm always prepared to go it alone.Things can come up even with the most reliable hunting partners(death in the family ect).

I do most of my hunting alone,although for me it's a 10 minute drive to be huntng.

my hunting partners are my wife (for the last 4yrs) and my daughter (1st yr) they never let me down...but each of them have shot a Buck this yr and I havent...man I am getting crapped on about it too...

Anyhow I had buddies who bailed on me in the past...so hunt alone or try to keep the party in the family...

That sucks that your plans got changed at the last minute. Hope something else comes up for you. I can't say it has ever happened to me as I only hunt on family farms. I personally would never do something like that to my hunting buddy. Best of luck with your hunting.
