NEA does 12" and 9" hand guards.
 
does anyone stock them? OST Has hem expected at end August. By the time registration and shipping it would be close to the middle of September.

I'm also not a huge fan of the look of the rail. I really like the look of the 7" with front sight post. What is the down side of having a fixed front sight? Keep in mind I do want Irons on it. Maybe a eotch or something down the road. I'm not into the "Mall Cop" look

Is there a negative to the core 15 or Stag?

Edit: Closer inspection shows some wear present but not as much as I originally thought. I will keep a close eye on it and see if it gets any worse.

You might also consider building your own. I've been consuming tutorials and blogs at an epic pace over the last week and as a result I understand ARs to a vastly higher degree than ever before. Nevermind the intimacy that will come from the actual build.
 
I have an LMT 14.5" and I really like it. The fit and finish is excellent. The rifle is capable of 1MOA with my Acog. I bought it from questar and everything was perfect.

Personally I think that LMT is the best bang for your buck. There are better manufacturer out there but sometime, they are selling their rifles about 2500-3000$. How much better is an HK (3000$) over an LMT (1700$)? Don't Forget an AR is only for range.... So even an norinco will do the job.

1. If you have found an HK for $3000 PLEASE tell me where. My KAC was $3000 and every HK I priced out was north of $4000; and

2. Depends whose range you use. I run my AR's VERY hard. I train with them so failure and cheap crap like Norinco is not in the books for me. Sure a Norinco will work if you shoot a round every 10 seconds from a bench. But I sure as hell don't. And I sure as sh*t don't baby them, they get dirty, dusty, used and abused. Same goes with my Swiss Arms.
 
Get what you can afford and save some money for ammo/accessories. All three you mentioned are good guns and will serve the purpose of launching you into the uber-addictive world of the AR. This definitely won't be your last and probably won't stay stock for long, so get what you can afford and enjoy!!!
 
I would totally go for the Daniel Defense M4 V3 if i were you. Its $1500. I must admit though i really want to pick up a NEA at some point down the road. Theres just something about them that makes me want one. I'm just waiting until the financial situation gets a little better lol.
 
for the Danial Defense. Whats the difference with the V3-V5. Is it just the front sight post?

What are the Pros and Cons of having a front sight post?? Is it possible to remove it?

V3 has the standard front sight base/gas block(known as the FSB). Its a fixed design, very strong and classic AR look. The V5 has a low profile gas block that is hidden/protected by the quad rail.

Pros and cons.

The fixed FSB is simple and rugged. The down side, is that it can be extra weight that isn't needed. Depending on the front sight you use you can save some weight by going with a bolt on front sight. Some complain that the FSB obscures their view/sight picture when shooting. If you run a reddot or similar CCO you should/need to be shooting with both eyes open to appreciate the advantage a reddot has over irons. The same "issue" is a non issue with magnified optics. The FSB usually is seen as a slight blur in the bottom of the optic and has zero effect on performance. However, if you run a magnified optic and a tritium night sight front post you will have problems. The tritium post will cause your entire FOV inside your optic to glow green in the dark. Making it difficult to identify targets and get your reticle on target. The solution to the last problem, is a folding front sight which leads into the DD V5.

The no sights/railed DD rifle(v5) offers the user the ability to run a detachable fixed front sight. This is similar to the stock FSB but it bolts to the rail. The user can also run folding front sights of any number of makes and models. The down side to both these options is that they're bolted on which means you run the risk of them loosening and falling off(it happens a lot). Folding sights are also generally less robust than the standard FSB. Adding sights is also an additional cost. Another benefit of the rail system sans FSB is the ability to mount accessories such as lights and/or lasers anywhere you like. In addition, the gas block is hidden/protected by the rail system.

If your looking at the Daniel Defense models, you should also investigate the V7 model. It seems to have good reviews as well.
 
dont buy an AR they suk, i have two! and waiting my LaRue,Ar's are awesome! you will be addicted worse than crack once you get your first one! good luck and happy shopping!,oh i would really consider what everyone else said, an LMT or Daniel Defence
