I'm thinking wolves are about when I hunt rabbits

Not against a wolf it couldn't hold it's own.
Wolves can crunch any bone in a moose.

Are pyrenese not meant to protect livestock from wolves, and coyote.

Just checking cause i know Anatolian sheperds are bred to kill wolves, the one i have could probably take a wolf without to much difficulty.

Wolves make less noise than most people think. Along with prints, you will find wolf #### everywhere, noting that wolves have large circuits and can be away from the area for several weeks at a time. When wolves are present in the area, you'll find the bush very quiet.

I doubt it was a wolf the OP heard. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if wolves are about, even when he is not hunting rabbits.

My sister bought one (pyrenese) and it would brake out the storm door

with it;s tail when it got happy to see you,you could not bring the

grandchildren over be cause he would beat them severly.

He was the size of a GreatDane with a lash-la-rue tail!

I'm sure he could kill a wolf ,and probably lash the chit out of a lion!

i know one breed that is able to fight against wolf : the charplaninatz but when we used that kind of dog they had steel and leather neck collar and a lumbar protection again with steel and leather, and one dog wont defeat a wolf (that kind of protection came from the Roman with theyr battlefield dog) .... we used 3 dogs to protect around +-100 domestic sheeps and goats ... the only problem with that kind of dog is they dont stand anybody (humans or animals) they dont know ...
