I'm torn over the FX9

Definitely both are great guns and if you have had problems with your FX9 I can see why you'd be looking at something else. PC Carbine with the alum handguard and adjustable stock is a great choice. I still like the weight of the FX9 better, as well as the ease of takedown/cleaning.

I agree,the modular design is great. It didn’t however work for me or my buddy, when the bolt carrier is locked halfway due to a stuck case, take down is impossible.

This is a very good point and one in which I have not considered. Yes, I use the Upulas as well since I don't know about anyone else, but putting in rounds 9 and especially 10 on a 10 round unpinned Glock OEM mag requires strength I don't quite possess. I can do it at the risk of blowing blood vessels, initiating a hernia and who knows what else. It is true that there is much less tension on a pinned larger capacity mag. Point taken.

I think you may find the issue is the springs. M&P 10 rd mags have the same spring in them as the 10/17. I prefer to Dremel down the follower feet on the M&P Mags as opposed to cutting the spring. I just bought the M&P Compact Version2. The Mag body, I discovered is the same length as it is for the FS version for all the 10 rounder mags, including the original Compact which is a much smaller pistol than the current version. All Smith does is change the polymer base from the smallest mag the base is slim, the Compact ver 2 base is slightly longer in depth and the FS is the longest. The all use the same mag spring as the 17 round mags. If you think putting the 10th round in the mag is difficult on your 10 rd FS mag in the M&P try the small Compact! I suspect the 10 rd Glock mags sold up here are the same as the 10/xx mags.

Two late now, but two solutions for that is about $1.50 in quarters in the buffer tube OR a cartridge style trigger group - or both!

I have seen a number of FX9’s at carbine or sub gun courses; not one has ever finished one. I have watched at least a half a dozen #### the bed constantly and guys have had to run backups or borrow guns to finish

YMMV, but IMO they’re junk. Buy the PC9 and enjoy something that runs for more than a mag at a time

I guess we all have our own experiences. One of our competitors has been using one for two seasons with nary a hiccup. My Ruger PCC has been as reliable as the sun, like yours, but so was my Scorpion and CX 4 Strom. I think the Gen 2 version of the FX-9 has cured some of the early issues with the gun. I'll let you know as I have one coming.
