I second the park thing: In Waterton the deer will walk right up to you, I've also had a young buck walk right up to me in my campsite somewhere in BC (we named him Kokanee, in honour of our beverages we were enjoying at the time). I've also run into deer on the pathways near the glenmore reservoir that had no fear of humans, they just stand right in the middle of the path until you go around them.

Here is what the email said:

Scott Nelson and his Sons were fishing Saturday when this small Whitetail fawn approached them on the South fork of the Snake River .

It must have spent the summer bumming from campers or maybe one the home owners in the lower canyon was feeding it so it lost its fear of humans.

I had a close encounter Sunday morning. I work at a bar and on my way home around 3am, I almost hit a group of mule deer crossing the street near my house in the middle of the city. I stopped the truck and they didn't move. So I decided to see how close I could get.

Let's just say, if I had a hunting knife... well... breakfast sausage could have been made.

sad to see the lack of fear.... makes one wonder where its mom is.....

But those are some great shots..
