IMI Beowulf mags

I may have spoken too soon... dropped a mag (carpeted floor) testing to see if they dropped free and the capacity limit pin fell out. Looks like the plastic pin is hot glued in. Arghhhh!

While you've got that mag like that, can you check if you can get the follower out and grind some off the bottom to see if that would help give it a bit more 'give" on a full mag? I find mine are really hard to get in on a closed bolt when the mag is full - no spring / give at all. TIA

How long have you used them? I had one Beowulf like that but I found after some use that it worked better.

I believe they are sonic welded into the mags. So its possible that that one didnt Take as well as others.

Sonic welded? I just scraped off what looked to be hot glue from the inside end. I'll pop the bottom off a couple more and see if they're all like that or this one was a repair job.

I might replace it with a rivet or hot glue or epoxy it back into place.

I'll have a look see. My mags fit 15rnds of 223 exactly with zero give. If one was to use it with 15rnds, they'd have to insert it with an open bolt.

Ok, I had a look. Yes, if one could remove the plastic pin, you can remove the follower. It fits 5.25 50 Beowulf rounds hence why they snugly fit 15rnd of 223 exactly. Had it been 5.5 Beowulf rounds, that would leave some space to load a full 15rnd of 223 on a close bolt rifle... if one was to use 223 in the mag. :)

Ultrasonic welding. Uses soundwaves To melt the plastic together.

Got mine today. All three drop from my SGW lower, but one is snug in my Eagle Arms lower. Need to take them for a proper test drive at the range hopefully this week.

Hold 14 rounds. Didn't want to try and jam number 15 in.

Auggie D.

Yeah my CC lower is tight as a virgin... Doesn't like PMAG either
Anybody tried the original Magpul on these? They are a little too short for my D3 chestrig; if they fit fine that would be great
