IMP/END .276/Start .30Cal

Gentlemen,
This file is of interest because it shows that Ordnance has dropped the 'NEW IMPROVED .276 Cal" All work is now to be on the Garand .30 Cal Rifle. Notice the number of .276 Cal that had been ordered built.

It is important to post to these files as many of you have info that others might not have.

125 rifles, I wonder how much thouse would have went if they made them before finally deciding on just using the 30-06 Springfield today.

100,000$ to build rifles if the 30caliber M1 Garand, I do not believe they ended up making a lot of rifles for that cost at the start because of the tooling & fixturing required to produce them.
