Impact precision action stock inlet concern

I’d like to see photos of that build. Or did you post a pic already? I seen a build like that on here some time back that was super cool. Heavy Palma barrel on it I think. Wonder if insite arms has had a fuzion in the shop already to compare to impact

Yeah here is the wife's rifle, it has a 24" heavy palma on it. Originally it was a bit front heavy (Bravo is a light chassis), but the KRG weighted LOP spacers really helped to balance it out. I've posted it here before, so it very well could be the wife's rifle you are thinking of.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a LP Fuzion through the Insite shop yet.

Thanks! It's a really nice setup, love how it came out. Works perfectly for the wife most importantly. It's a slick rig, and I love that LP Fuzion more and more each time I handle it.

Where did you get the fuzion action?? Have you tried an impact action? The main thing I dislike about the impact is the trigger hanger setup which I personally don’t need but the rest is all very nice.

I got it from TS Customs, who also did the gunsmith work. He does a lot of work on LP Fuzions, and has a bunch go through his shop.

Haven't really had the opportunity to try out an Impact, though people seem to really like them. The trigger hanger is not necessary if you have a trigger like the BnA Tacsport, where you can time the trigger to the action with the different sear heights and sear engagement adjustment. The advantage to the trigger hanger is if you are using a trigger with a set sear engagement (like a TT), from there you get the appropriate hanger height to optimize the sear to action interface. The downside to that, is that the hanger doesn't play nice with some chassis'.

One of the reasons I love the BnA triggers is the ability to "time" the trigger to the action with the sear heights and sear adjustment. That makes a huge impact on how an action feels - benchresters have known this for a long time, but its still relatively unkown to the PRS/NRL world. Some people think the Impact is some magical action, but a big reason for why the Impact feels so good is the ability to mate up the trigger to the action with that hanger. The Impact does have some nice features - it's built with the correct tolerances/clearances to handle really adverse/dusty conditions, and the thread specs are held to such a tight tolerance that you can have a gunsmith spin you up a shouldered barrel without even seeing the action. Those are great qualities, but the LP Fuzion checks those boxes as well.

I’m using triggertechs. Those BnA triggers are crazy expensive so not sure plus I have no idea if I’d know what I’m doing with tuning seat engagement. Those tight tolerances are pretty impressive

In that case you may very well benefit from the hanger with the Impact action. I've never tried the LP Fuzion with a TT trigger, but without any trigger timing done, a trigger with a set sear engagement may or may not be optimal with a given action. I can't say for sure how the LP Fuzion + TT stacks up.

Insite is the dealer for Impact in Canada, they can get you into a nice Impact setup. As far as I know, no one in Canada stocks LP actions.

Yeah I suppose so eh? I’m deciding on barrel contour now for an 18” or 20” barrel. My mtu is too much barrel for my uses. Heavy Palma, marksmen contour or rem varmint/sendero contour is where I’m leaning on. I just don’t want it to look funny at 18 or 20” length. That heavy Palma looks like about as heavy as I’d wanna go

So I swapped my action choice from impact precision to a lonepeak fuzion from bighorn sales. Didn’t really wanna deal with the trigger hanger mods. 308 bolt face though. So 223 is out the door. Fast twist 22-250 or other cal
