Found this in the bottom of an old box, forgot I had them. Is from the 80's, I'm giving them to my nephew, he'll hopefully take a whitetail with them this weekend.

I remember shooting at a coyote with those in the early 1990's.... I had a model 70 featherweight 30-06 at the time. It was sighted in with 165 grain Federal ammo, but not knowing any better at the time, I thought the 110 grain bullet would be better for a coyote. Of course I missed three times. The point of impact was so far off I couldn't have hit a 12 inch target at 100 meters.
A total rookie mistake, ( was young and didn't know any better at the time ), and learned a good lesson. I hope your nephew re zero's his rifle with those before he shoots at any animal.

I was thinking the same, and have warned him to sight it in with these.

I would just hold on to that box of ammo to remind me of better times. I mean when was athe last time you could buy a box of those for $13.95?

I do hear what your saying, but I'm starting to reconsider my hoarding. I think I'll get a bigger smile from knowing these will be a small part in making a young man and his Dad have a great bonding experience than looking at them in a safe every 10 years.
I think that too. Use them, use them well.
The memories of better times are best kept in your head, where police and government can't steal them.
