I have a complete stag rifle and I’m wanting to buy a lantac ebcg and sell of my stag arms bcg. Will there be any dangers of headspace issues I need to know? I’m not familiar with AR style rifles so I need to know this before I order the lantac bcg. Can I just swap them out and go shoot?

I’m so newb at these type of guns. I don’t have any go gauges to check headspace. The lantac ebcg should be dpms compatible I would think. Correct me tho if I’m wrong

Nothing wrong with stag bcg. Looked at it closely and machining quality looks super good. My only gripe is it does not state that it has been magnestically Partical inspected and it doesn’t say it has the 9320 steel bolt like the higher end bcg’s have

9310 steel Phosphated bolt, 8620 steel Carrier Phosphated outside and chrome lined inside, Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, Fastened with Grade 8 screws, and Staked Per Mil-Spec.

Ooops
Thsts the PSA bolt that comes with the build kits

I’m already beginning to think twice about it....

I always wait until after I test before witching out internal parts. External are usually more personal preference than performance.

First check that the parts are on tight, like the handguard, barrel nut, and gas tube. Tighten as needed.

Next, as you already said, clean, oil/grease, and then do a lot of manual cycling.

Now bring your cleaning gear and oil to the range and start testing. If things FTF, FTE, or jam up look for anything that might be in the chamber area like brass shaved by the feed ramps. Clean and oil well, but keep the chamber dry.

I already can tell my gas block is not installed straight and obviously loose. I added a tiny bit of oil to the top of the bcg and worked the action and immediately it smoothened up some when racking the handle. I don’t care for the factory spring tho. I think that the jp springs are a must to smoothen up that cranky spring feeling

Are you just changing things for the sake of changing things? Yes, the Stag bolt is MP inspected. Just shoot it! lol

Lol ya I really like the chrome looking lantac bolt but the biggest thing I see is the domed pin in the lantac that causes less wear inside the receiver. If I could get a roller pin in mine I’d call it a day lol...! I’ll have to see if I can get the roller pin or domed pin
