IMPoRTANT Tikka bottom metal question!

Do I absolutely need pillars for pillar bedding in order for a new stainless steel bottom metal to function correctly with AICS magazines on my tikka 223rem lite? I want to buy a bottom metal that accepts AICS mags for my tikka. I need to know if it's an absolute must for proper alignment and feeding of the ammunition. Please let me know

Depends on the stock, application.. but in general, no, not necessary.

But can be helpful, especially if the stock material is "soft".

Well I want the Lumley arms stainless steel bottom metal its from Australia. New they come with pillars but I found a used one without the pillars. I was thinking of installing it on my tikka lite factory synthetic stock for now until I get a bell Carlson or other more affordable stock.

Necessary? No. Desirable, definitely yes. You can order the pillars separately, I think they make a kit with the pillars, new action screws and a stainless recoil lug.

I agree. Desirable for sure. Is there any Canadian or American company I can order the same thing from or will a different brand name make the pillars differently?

The pillars have nothing to do with helping feeding. They are for pillar bedding the stock. For the purpose you pillar bedded any stock. I used the DBM kit without the pillars. The pillars go installed in a different tikka stock I have (a wood one).
