is there any restriction from CBSA to import a scope from US? I'm looking to buy one from Ebay at a better price but I'm not sure if this would be 100% legal.

Import into Canada is not the issue.
Export from the United States is a major issue. Deal with a licenced exporter.

There are a number of board sponsors that can assist with the legal importation of rifle scopes from the US (the export from the US in reality). However note the following:
1 - there is a fee - depends on the importer.
2 - depending upon the brand, you may run into warranty issues and if you have to send it back to the US, you will have to reimport it (and pay any import/export and shipping fees again).

Perhaps contact a Canadian dealer and see if they will match the price? Remember that with the current Canada/US exchange rate, you will be paying about 1.41 x the listed US dollar price.

No. That's the answer you are looking for.

The other answers, to the question you didn't ask, are important. Send a direct query to the Ebay seller about whether they will export that scope. Then realise that even if they are willing, if they don't know the rules that scope might get confiscated in transit by U.S. authorities who don't care whether you get your money back, and the exporter who got it wrong may be in too much trouble with them to bother about giving your money back. You are not going to get extradited, but the goods and the money may be lost forever.

Yup, ITARD is ridiculous. This BS is why I avoid buying anything from the states if at all possible, buy European or Canadian.

thank you guys for your replies. What would be a good Canadian supplier? I don't mind to buy online as long as I get real warranty at a decent price.
I'm looking to buy a scope for a muzzleloader.
