Just looking for any opinions on the subject.

I have the opportunity to get .223 magazines for the AICS out of the UK.

There are no restrictions on bolt action rifle magazine capacity. Just wondering if I order them, will some over zealous customs inspector(who doesn't know the regs) deny their entry.

Just want to know before I lose money.

Anybody ever done this before?

All the best, Carl

Not sure if it's 100% relevant, but I already imported a riflescope from the UK and wasn't even charged any duties, let alone faced with an inspection/seizure.

Just make sure they ship it with Parcelforce or Royal Mail because if you go with a courrier like FedEx, UPS, etc. you'll get duties (and possible inspection) for sure.

That's been my experience. I take it you're trying to upgrade that LTR with an AI stock?

Anyway, good luck.

Not so much an AI stock, more like a Vbull mag conversion!

Gun parts cannot be expoerted legally from the U. K. without permits under the Wassanar Agreement.

The store that stocks these doesn't have a problem with international shipment of these. They only wanted to know if there would be problems with the Canadian side.

I just wanted to know if there might be any problems with getting these - they are designed for a bolt action rifle - which by definition is perfectly legal for any capacity limit.

Just exploring my options, as I'd like to use the Vbull mag system, or eventually upgrade to the AICS for my LTR .223.

Redman, sorry, I can't offer an interpretaion and you may wish to look into this. I just deal with exporters who have to deal with it. It's their law and I'm not a lawyer, although it would help to be one in our increasingly bureacratic world as regards the gun business. I know that EUCs are part of it.

Regards,

Peter

Peter,

Agreed - I was curious if you knew if the agreement was as "all encompassing" as the export laws for the US (where stocks, scope mounts/rings, etc. are considered "gun parts" requiring permits).

That being so, Carl, I believe Questar could fill you in on any limitations from our end, although I don't recall ever reading about any.
