Personally, I've yet to encounter that.

I've also seen this done.

Most of you probably aren't familiar with Snye, QC. The only way to access Snye, QC in the summer (and in the winter if you don't want to drive over an ice bridge) is to go through the US border crossing in Cornwall, ON/Massena, NY. My business gets quite a few service calls in Snye. When you enter the US you have to present these "In Transit" forms stating what you are taking through the US, etc. You present the form to the border nutbars, they tell you the rules like "you can stop on the way there, but not on the way back" etc. And then they rip off one page of the form. You are SUPPOSED to stop AGAIN on the way back so they can sign off on a second page of the form. But most people, myself included, just motor right on past the US customs building and keep going right into Canada (less time spent in that country, the better).

I was stopped on my way back one day... Just for this reason. That a lot of vehicles weren't parking and going back in to present their in transit forms. Well, at least thats the reason they gave me... But they had EVERY car stopped.

I have. It was about 10 years ago, and I happened to have a bunch of collector ammo with me (Remember, back then it was OK for us to buy ammo down there)
They gave me the run-around, saying that I could not buy and export ammo, but I knew I was right. Eventually, they let me and my ammo go, saying taht becuase it was individual rounds of all different calibres, they would do me a favour. When I got home, I started phoning around, just ot make sure I was in the right. I got the relavant law quotes, etc. and next time I was down, I dropped into the US customs, and spoke to the supervisor. He said he would bring it to the attention of the guys that pulled me over originally.
He also said that, Yes, the US Customs does have the right to do exit checks, and do so occasionally.

I have heard of others being stopped in exit checks also. Very rare, but it does happen. Recently, I saw them being conducted when I drove down, but by the time I returned north, they had stopped.

If the USA does not want me to buy American...then so be it, plenty of European, Scandinavian, and Asian dealers out there. :)

Do you know any online dealers in Asia and Europe that will sell Magpul stuff? Are there places that sell Acogs and Eotechs - just in case for the future since I can't afford them now.
