Importing and classification of the Nemo Omen line of rifles.

On the note of not being an AR variant, what about the Alexander Arms Ulfberht? It's not an AR variant. Granted they're still in presale mode, and they're $6850.00 US, but would still be interesting to find out if they'll come to Canada.

Hope everyone who was wishing these small shop custom type rifles were NR have seen and got very excited about #### #### ####'s modern hunting rifle project. It got NR status so hopefully the Nemo 's being similarily built from the ground up will get NR. ####'s are starting at $3100.
Just wanted to let folks know that might have been subscribed to this thread and not know yet about that exciting development in a NR AR10, and I don't think it'll be any norinco

Is IRG selling this "rifle project"?

Has anyone found out anything yet, or are we still arguing that this is an AR variant, when it has nothing similar besides the look?

Importers, you find out anything?

I guess it all depends on how it is marketed and advertised. If this manufacturer see some potential in Canadian market, maybe a local .ca website with a more politically correct marketing strategy may create a miracle...?

Lets stop looking for miracles and lets start Demanding change.

Miracles are for fairy tails, change is real and can happen.

If anyone thinks they are going to an NR status on this rifle in a couple of days..... well that's just funny. I hope that the internals are unique enough that it can get an NR status, but mousy likely a sample would have to sit in the firearms lab for months or years before it would be labeled NR.
I would love a 300wm in an AR type platform, but the MH will have to do for now

You guys do realize that the RCMP considered a gun an AR variant when they managed to DUCK TAPE the upper and lower together, use sticks and other misc garbage and got a rifle to fire once?
This will certainly be an AR variant.
And like others have said, work for true change, not these weird little "miracle" rifles.

Ill have to check the FRT again, but im pretty sure these already have a restricted FRT number..

Steve

Anyone get one into Canada??

I have the Omen Recon and it is restricted has an 18" barrel but my understanding was they are restricted at any length. Why this is I dont know as there is nothing here that would work if mated (which i dont see as physically fitting) with any Ar I have seen.
I will tell you it is absolutely a blast to shoot :)

Where did you get it and how long ago??

Just more FRT Lab nonsense..... pure and simple. They are that turned around and inconsistent they can't remember their own reasons for any classification being issued to any particular gun. We all know the models that are similar to each other: some classed prohib, some classed restricted and others NR but all share the same operating systems / basic design.

The prohibition/restriction of a firearm simply by name is ridiculously dumb especially when the same firearm is significantly out-gunned by commercially available, NR hunting rifles.

The stupidity is overwhelming.

Wolverine also sells Noreen rifles. I handled a Noreen Bad News lately and found it relatively handy (no mag no scope).
I believe it's also restricted for the same mysterious reason.
