So i'm doing a 7.62x39 AR-15 build.

I've been able to source most of the parts I need in Canada except for the Bolt-Carrier Group, barrel and heavy hammer springs. So i'm wondering how difficult it is to import those parts into Canada steight from the source, or will I have to go through an importer like Irunguns?

Importation into Canada is not a problem.
Exportation from the US is, given that these parts are regulated for export. They can only be exported by a licenced exporter.

Brownells or Irunguns.

Non sponsor ###### Armory are worth a look too.

Edit: looks like AZ tech is censored. Wonder why?

I used AZ Tech Armory as well, bought all my products from different companies and had them sent up to their Washington State office, then they will import them for me. Can anyone tell me why there name is censored on here, I don't want to break any rules

^^^^^^Yes ##### Armory is great!!!
Was wondering the same, why is the name censored? Should we not speak his name?

Brownells and IRG are both top notch establishments. The only issue with importing is it's definitely an exercise in patient...

Also have a little extra cash ready, I've ordered a few things from Brownells/Sinclair over the years. Usually it ends up in my mail box, but the spring kit I ordered had to be picked up...had to pay ransom to liberate it courtesy of CBSA.

i'm looking at the barrels on ar15part.com, I doubt they have an export licence
its not required if you use a third party vendor like IRUNGUNS. I used their service for a purchase from AR15performance.com.

Just order the barrel and let them know an FFL dealer will be in contact with them. Contact IRG and then fill out the particulars with their online form. Pay the fee and just sit back and wait. I found that the barrel and service fee are cheaper then most barrels purchased in Canada.

GREAT SERVICE as they can get anything from any vendor for you.

Have it shipped to the exporter of your choice.
Btw...what brand barrel are you looking for?
I wouldn't cheap out on barrels if I were you, unless performance and accuracy is not what you care about, hence casual action plinking!
Krieger and White Oak Armament barrels are IMO the best out there. Many try to duplicate good barrels but hardly come close to replicating the quality that good manufacturers provide. (Port size to barrel length, feed ramp and chambering)

I've been looking at the 20" Stainless steel barrel from ar15part.com, however I can't find any reviews about the stuff being sold on that site. How much are the fees with IRG's?

The rule for ARs is that there are only a few manufacturers of lowers, uppers etc......most others stamp their name on them and/or do mild variations to the parts aesthetically.
Same goes for barrel. Due to the demand and popularity of the AR, many have undertaken making barrels buying the blanks from reputable companies, but most of the time the quality isn't there I'm afraid.
For example, I bought a Rainier Arms barrel. They are popular and the company is huge. Well my 10.5" barrel was not ported properly for it's length.
I took to one of our local gunsmith with a very good reputation, and first thing he says to me is that he just worked on 2 other barrels from them recently that were faulty.
Now, this does not mean all their barrels are crap, but you are opening yourself to the possibility.
One of my first AR build is still sporting the same barrel, it will chamber even bulk MFS soft point with no FTF or FTE and I have thousands of rounds through it. Its a White Oak Armament.
I have built several ARs for myself and for friends and from experience those who spent the $ to get the good stuff haven't had a single issue. You get what you pay for I'm afraid.
Again this is my opinion based on my experience.
If you are just planning on dumping rounds for fun down range at 15-20 yards then by all means buy one of those.
The barrel is the most important unit of any rifle.

Alberta tactical use Lilja blanks and makes great barrels.

Faxon firearms makes great barrels too buy via CTCSupplies: https://ctcsupplies.ca/products/faxon-firearms-flame-fluted-ar-15-5-56-nato-barrel-qpq-20

Dominion Arms: https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/dominion-arms-da-556-20-barrel/

There are over 500 manufacturers of AR-15's in the US, There is high supply and currently the demand has dwindled since the assault weapons ban scare. So the price on parts is dropping in the US.
I could not find really any reviews on AR15part.com however I did find scattered forum comments saying they were not very good. I have found other budget barrels that have very positive reviews. I'm not planing on using it as a hardcore competition rifle or anything. Just close to 1 moa at 100metres. I'll make a separate post when I start on my build.

Yes please do.

There are about 7 companies that make the forgings.
There are currently FOUR manufacturers that produce the majority of lower receivers for the AR market. MMS, CMT, LMT and LAR receive orders from many licensed manufacturers who obtain an ATF variance to have them cut and logo receivers on their behalf. (give or take)
Here is a few as example:

LMT (Lewis Machine Tool) = LMT, Lauer(old), DS Arms, PWA, Eagle, Knights Armament, Barrett, Bushmaster (?)

CMT (Continental Machine Tool) = Stag, Rock River Arms , High Standard, Noveske (old), Century (current), Global Tactical, Compass Lake Engineering, S&W, MGI (1st batch), Wilson Tactical, (some?) Colt, Ratworx

LAR (L.A.R. Manufacturing) = Grizzly, Bushmaster (L Prefix), Ameetech (?), DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton, Spike's Tactical, Noveske (new)

MMS (Mega Machine Shop) = Mega, Gunsmoke, Dalphon, POF (forged), Alexander Arms, Stinger, Spike's Tactical (old)

The assault ban scare and inventory depletion was indeed to blame for high prices but a decent barrel will still cost you around $250-$300 USD or close to $400+ CAD

Anyways: Krieger, White Oak and Faxon are amongst my favorite barrels out there.

Good luck
