So I’m having a hard time importing my Bradshaw rotary action to Canada, most importer need to buy the rifle on my behalf and then I buy it from them…. In my case The rifle is already paid for and ready to ship, anybody had that issue of having them to buy it on your behalf???

not sure your importer is but i would try a different
i have bought a couple of guns from the usa never heard of that
When was last time and who did you use?
Prophet river uses borderview and borderview won’t import/export with out buying it from the seller and then selling it to me!

Why not get in touch with Ralph martini? He’d have lots of experience, I’m sure he could point you in the right direction

Prophet river deals with borderview and borderview need to pay for the rifle and then you buy it from them.

You need to realize that importers charge fees for their services. If they have to pay for the firearm then they may build a small profit for this service into their fee. It all adds up though. You need to consider the exchanges rate, fees, taxes, shipping, etc to confirm whether it’s worthwhile to go through the process.

Sometimes you just can’t find that particular firearm in Canada so you have to bite the bullet if you really want it.

That is a custom rifle and all of it was considered other than the fact that they change the way they were doing it!

Could borderview not "buy" it from the maker for a nominal fee, to facilitate the paperwork? Perhaps the maker would be amenable to refunding you the money after the "purhase".

We decided me and the builder/seller, he will refund me and then charge borderview/prophet river and they will charge me… not simple not cheap(exchange rate, fees etc) but that is the only way it seems !
Thank you all for the suggestions!
