importing long gun from states

Hello all. I'm interested un buying an underhammer hopkins and allen from Blue Grouse. I was wondering how hard it will be to import? Some things of importance- it's a kit not a complete gun, it's cap lock not a flint lock.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

It would be treated as importing a non restricted firearm by Canada. In the US it is a muzzle loader which you should be free to purchase as the US doesn't classify muzzleloaders with rimfire of centerfire rifles.

Purchase the kit....contact CFC "Import Section" and have them issue you a temporary registration certificate. You have to wait for the certificate to arrive in the mail (seven days). When you bring it back through the border you just show the certificate and your PAL and bring it home.
