Importing used USGI M14 stock for USA

I deal with the legalities and realities of the import/export fiasco all the time.

2 points: There are many US retailers that are skirting the rules at their peril in using descriptions like "Wood Carvings" on customs docs to identify (or obscure) gun stocks. There are some barrel companies that export "Steel Tubes" to Canada, but they are breaking US law too.

If you are a recipient of such goods and you have knowingly failed to secure the proper International Import Certificates, in trying to import items controlled by US law you are equally guilty. I'm not thrilled about being on Homeland Security's hit list so I follow the rules. I import as a business and I am lawful to a fault. I'm not the border police and I'm certainly not defending the law because it is really silly, but I choose to respect where disregarding the law can cause you a lifetime of grief if you ever want to travel in or over the US.

Secondly, discussing means of circumventing this is - if I am not mistaken - a violation of CGN rules which is grounds for immediate termination of your CGN membership. Just be careful I guess...

you can buy the same stock from Gun parts inc., no export permit needed.

If it is a USGI M14 stock then it requires export permits. Period.

If Gun Parts Inc. want to ship them without permits, then it is their a$$ on the line and they better be prepared to pay hndreds of thousands of dollars in fine if caught......................

SKBY.

okay... still not convinced???
a year and a half ago I ordered up a stock from ebay, a. m14 gi fiberglass, in new condition. It arrived a couple weeks later. Fast forward to last february (07), 4 months after i receiverd the stock. I am on a business trip to Nevada.... suit n tie and all..... and though i crossed into the states by car.... when i went to go through airport in bellingham, I got hauled in.

I was not only embarrassed as hell but i was freakin out as well cuz at this point I had no idea why i was being detained. I got away with a stern warning, and I no longer see the guy selling anything on ebay.... so who knows what happened to him.

Since this time I have been denied crossing the border 4 times and now that i have my passport, I finally am off the shzit list and as I go down across the line frequently, I am relieved this crap is finally over.

all that for a 49.99 buy it now deal on ebay..
anyhow......
