It seems that ebay has some reasonably priced VZ surplus parts from the Czech Republic.

Has anybody imported parts from the Czech? Was there a hefty duty or legal issues?

I brought some stuff back to Canada with me in checked baggage. I declared it. No issues. no duty.

10 - 4 that! No issues for me either.....buy when u can before the prices skyrocket and before they stop shipping to canada...got a few sets of beechwood stocks coming in any day now......next up a few extra barrels

I've bought a bunch of surplus Vz.58 parts from the Czech Republic. Never paid any duties on them. I have a feeling the CBSA aren't on their game very often despite what Border Security argues.

At any rate, there are no legal issues with anything you would buy on eBay.

You brought stuff back, declared it, and paid no duties or taxes? It's likely because of the exemptions you have when you've left the country for at least 48 hours.

As for OP, who is ordering stuff online and having it mailed to them; you should probably expect some duties, taxes and perhaps delays. Unless they're low value parts to begin with.

Cool thanks for the replies. Are their any must have parts that I should have spare for my vz?

I would get a spare firing pin. The one on mine broke so I picked up 2 extra.

+1. I can't think of anything else that you would need.

You can also buy Vz.58/858 parts kits from some of the site sponsors as well. Corwin Arms has, for example, spare firing pins for C$28.27. Another site sponsor, whose name escapes me at the moment, had virtually every spare part you might need in a kit for about C$100 (if memory serves).

private sellers through the eBay you should be fine with, but the company I bought my stuff from in the czech republic told me as of 5-6 weeks ago that czech customs is not allowing any stock accessories to leave the country any more (beech wood sets, dust cover rails like the one from corwin, aluminum hand guards etc). The other guy I use there said the same thing, its due to the mass migration of people coming into western Europe and customs is trying to tighten their belts with gun parts not getting into the wrong hands. Now for internals in the rifle he is still able to ship that stuff. I have imported a bunch from there and have paid duties and taxes every time. If ya just get a few small bits under $100 I'm sure you won't pay anything. Hope this helps.

Back when I bought my CZH2003 those complete parts kits were 100 bucks and contained a lot more parts.

Yea the parts kits today are a complete rip off. Back then they came with a bunch of magazines, enough parts to completely rebuild your gun 3 - 4 times, and it came with a real wood stock set and side folder as well as a complete replacement beaver barf set. I also remember a crate of Czech surplus back then could be had for $150 during a sale and $180 - $200 regular.

I was going to have a bunch of stuff sent back to me from the guys at Gun Expert SA 58 when I visited them in November and early December. They said they sometimes have issues sending stuff over to Canada and stopped shipping a few things. I mailed some parts back to myself from Poland with no duties and no problems. It does not mean there are none but I got my stuff although I was initially concerned. It is too bad since they have some pretty cutting edge stuff for the VZ58 models
