Well my full size Norc showed up in its Blackfeather stock, with the LSP rail and I’m impressed as hell, had it out to the range today to test for consistency and it was stacking them at 25yds only had access to an indoor range (beggars can’t be choosers) and only had enough time to test for function and consistency, didn’t have time to sight it in. No kick at all in that heavy chassis, and the most accurate M14 I’ve fired yet. Going to toss a bushnell elite Tactical 10x on her, and try it at 200+ when spring rolls round and things melt off around here. What do you other guys think of your blackfeathers?

Bulletproof. Built locally and well considered in every respect. Converts an interesting rifle platform into what ever you want it to be, DMR or close quarter dress it the way you want it. Working on my third unit now, maybe my last........ for now.

Candocad.

Sure makes it easier to grease everything too, the oprod guide is amazing. Like I said I’ve never had an m14 yet that shot sub moa, I imagine bedding the receiver works most of the bugs out of it. Like in my long range rigs.

Call Frank first. There should be no reason to bed the action if stock is installed correctly..iirc

It is bedded in the m14.ca chassis system. That’s the idea behind it isn’t it.

I have found that heel bedding can have a small improvement after all the other accurizing work has been done. I think it compensates for dimensional variances in Norc receivers vs. spec.

Thanks for the post, I am in the process of putting mine together right now. I'm just curious, if you run a blackfeather with the m14.ca handguard, do you need to keep using the barrel band in front of the gas cylinder, or can you get rid of it completely? I'm just thinking that if you're not using the stock hand guard anymore, it won't actually do anything. With that said, you would probably have to make a shim so that the gas port stays in aligntment.

No you don’t. A shim .070” thick is what you’re looking for. You may, or may not, need to shim it tight tho.... if you’re making one, you can make it as thick as you like.

Alternatively, a replacement crush washer from SAGE would also do the trick.

before anything, I’d actually take it out and shoot it to test for consistency, mine is a tad loose and shoots perfectly, I had considered getting it unitized with the gas block but thought I’d better shoot it first. Had no issues.

Awesome! Are you able to provide me with a link of where to find that part?
