Improved Cylinder Choke for what?

My dad just bought a IC Choke for his shotgun as he stated it would be for skeet.....

Does anyone hunt with an improved cylinder choke and what for? Sure it would be good for shooting slugs, however what would a IC choke be good for, grouse?, waterfowl?, what?

Always been a modified choke user so unfamiliar with a IC choke for hunting.

improved cylinder would be good for geese and ducks using a bigger size steel shot like 2s - Ts

I use a IC choke in one of the barrels of my 20 guage for grouse hunting.

X2 with Gatehouse except I use a 12g.(its all I got).

X3, best choke for grouse inside 25 yds which is 95% of the shots presented wherever I hunt.

In my 870, I use I/C for ducks under 40yds with steel. Gives about the same patterns as lead with a modified choke.

I/C is great for upland as well, but I use skeet here for woodcock and grouse.

Buck shot ... large steel shot... rifled slugs... birdshot for close range on upland and bunnys... and skeet!

That's all I use for ducks, geese, grouse, etc. Oh, except when I use Open Cylinder!

I.C. was my preferred choke for hunting ducks/geese over dekes w/HV steel, that is until I bought a Wad Wizard SWAT12.

I use IC for EVERYTHING... With upland, my #8's give me the open pattern I need over the dogs... With ducks and steel shot, I get a modified (roughly) pattern over decoys...

If you have a good look at what distance you are shooting your upland game and the ducks you successfully put in the bag... my guess is that it is all under 30 yards...
