guys please keep in mind the Russian army is not run by idiots. if the sks needed a spring loaded firing pin it would have one from the factory. A clean sks won't slamfire on any ammo. I can't speak for Russian NCO's but in the CF having a weapon that dirty as to impede function would result in a "enhanced response" from the NCO's. Enhanced response is the new CF term for a boot up your a$$.
Actual conversation from morning inspection long ago, before Trudeauopia had taken hold:
Scene: 5 AM. Squadron parade for inspection on the edge of the tarmac.
Shivering recruit AC2's, standing ramrod stiff, right dressed in columns of three.
Our lord and master is giving us our first going over of the day.
Sergeant, scowling, looks me over and looks at my FN, then barks,
"Airman! Did you shave that ugly thing you call a face this morning?"
Me, jumping more stiffly to attention, knowing my chin was as spotless and smooth shaven as I could make it,
"YES SERGEANT!
Sergeant replies, growling,
"Of course you did, (at this point his voice rises to a full-throated bellow) AND IT'S ALL GONE DOWN THE BARREL OF YOUR BLOODY RIFLE!!
CLEAN THAT FIREARM!"
Motivational speaking at its finest.
