Barrel Struts have shown to improve MOA in all mini's but show the most improvement on the pre 580 models

Insure your gas block is evenly spaced on both sides and torque to 30-36 in lbs

Always blue Loc-tite scope mounts and rings on the the mini, as the violent action of the gun can loosen them fast.

The hogue overmold stock is much tighter fitting then the OEM stock and has shown to improve groups size. This may be a good idea if bedding is out of your skill set.

Some say the Ultimak rail has improve there moa by making the barrel more ridged like a barrel strut. I think if your looking for a scout scope option on your mini then why not give it a try.

AMMO TIME

The Mini-14s have had three rates of twist, 1/10" 1/7" and the newest is 1/9"

Use the right ammo for your rate of twist! You cant blame the your mini for bad accuracy if your shooting 45gr bullets in a 1/7" barrel :p

Most mini's will shoot tighter with 62gr up to 75gr bullets

The Mini-14 trigger is half the problem. I have a 581 series and have owned older ones in the past. The triggers have always been "crusty" feeling and the jerking prevents a smooth shot. I would love to hear "practical" ways to make the trigger smooth & crisp without the need for a gunsmith if possible. Thanks in advance.

There is a after market trigger at Brownells but it has very poor reveiws :( But check out this step by step vid on how to smooth it out your self :)

Also you might want to try Mini-14 trigger shims

Some great suggestions! 58x series is much better than previous.

Didn't do the full science experiment but the stainless models are slightly better than the blued.

Gas bushing is a must. I start with 0.05"

Check the torque on the gas block to make it even.

Flash hider might help though it mostly just look cool.

Try many types of ammo or load some of your own.

Any mini with these treatments could do a honest 2.5moa. Which I think totally acceptable in a semi-auto.

Another thing to note is shooting position. I have found some units shoot better supported by a 5/20 mag instead of off the forearm.

I'm no expert but I have yet to have a mini that can't smoke a 12 inch gong at 300+ yards. I love my minis!

I love my Mini ranch target. I mounted a new scope this weekend and sighted it in, it is a Barska 1-3x30 multi rail electro scope. There is alot of bad news out there about Barska, but this new scope is one of the nicest I've ever mounted. As for the mini, I think I'll even buy another one I like it that much! As for accuracy you can't get much better, and I know it was only at 60 yds. but 5\8 in. group
