Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone improved (or would know how to) the trigger on a Beretta 92? Any kit available or something like that?
Considering my lack of experience I would get the job done by a local gunsmith.

Cheers,

Yes, get a "D" spring. (mainspring from a 92 D -DAO version of 92FS).

It only costs a few $ and is very easy to install! Just take a couple minutes. It will nonicably reduce the DA pull and also lighten the SA a little bit as well.

Sory to jump in, but I have the same problem with my 92FS (or may me it's me need to lear to shoot ). Where are the 92D springs available from, please?

Lawrence,
Glad to hear that I am not the only one having difficulty with the 92. Mine is incredibly accurate in good hands. As for me, I am only starting to tame it... but a better trigger never hurt anybody!

Lugger,
Did you buy your spring from Brownell's??

I have been doing this trigger job for a few years now and it really shows you how to do a nice trigger job, you may have to join the Beretta Forum to access this link however:

If you have no experience with beretta smithing get someone who can do this trigger job for you or you could end up with a dangerous trigger.

Some times I think I have a black cloud hovering over my head. If I have a bad day I can miss an incredible 8 1/2" x 11" sheet at 20 yards. That is frustrating like hell and discouraging. Especially if others use my gun and get a tight group without effort. I put a crimson trace on my Beretta 92 and that can show me the mistakes I'm doing when I squeeze the trigger. I have a feeling that a bit lighter trigger with less travel might be the answer. A lot of range time helps too.

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking into it very soon because I need to improve.

Sounds like you'd be better off trying other types of pistols to see if any of the others would be less tempermental in your hands.

What needs to be improved? Is the pull to heavy? Trigger grity? Lots of Creep? Is it a new handgun or a used one?

My stock sig trigger was improved greatly by about 4000-5000 dry fires.

Nickorette,
My 92 got around 500rds. (I have had it for about 6 weeks) So, it is still fairly new... I'd like to get a lighter pull.

Dry firing is good for smoothing things out. New springs will get you a lighter trigger pull.

If for whatever reason you can't get lighter springs than I was told storing your hangun with the hammer cocked will lighten the trigger pull. It'll take a couple years though :D
