Hi,

I just bought Meprolight Night Sights for my Glock 17 and I'm wondering if there might be some kind of tool at Home Depot, etc.. that I could use to drift in the rear sight. Proper sight tools are ~$100 and I don't feel like dealing with a gunsmith if I don't have to.

Thanks, Steve

I'm a cheap bastard so even the $69USD tool is too pricey for something I'll probably only use once.

I'm trying to avoid the hammer and punch scenario. If they were not tritium sights that is what I'd use, but I don't want to break the vials or anything.
I'll probably just try to press it in against a block of hard wood using my bare hands. I'm just not sure how tight they fit.
I'll let you know how it goes, if anyone's interested...

Thanks

I don't think it will go... they are pressed quite tight.
I bought the tool and have used it 3 times now ;)... 2 Glocks of mine and anothers at the range. It is the Blue one that you saw on their site ($69USD) with slanted edges.

~Good luck though :)

Hmmmmmm... I don't see myself getting another Glock for sometime or using it again anytime soon.

Interested in mine? I'd sell it for $80 Shipped EMT (you'd have it probably on Wednesday). PM if you want it. Still like new :)

~Cheers

He didn't do it in front of me, but I told him not to hammer it in, and he said he used pusher tool. In any case, the vials seem to be undamaged. If he punched them in then he was risking buying me a new sight if he broke the vials.
