Impulse buy: ISSC Mk22

A question for those of you who have one, is it possible to de-#### this thing without dry firing? I'm guessing as with most rimfires that dry firing can cause damage to the breech face?

Anyone know the answer to this one? Google has failed me this time.

Here she is in stock form:

I have the tan and wow sure nice in black too all u need is the red dot and u got me on the deco king thing I'm gonna fool around with mine and see

Dry fire to decock. I haven't noticed any marks on my chamber face. YMMV but in the videos I saw the ISSC guys always just dry fired to decock

I just impulse bought one of these too. It functions beautifully, and it's really accurate. I still don't have the sights adjusted right, but it groups very consistently.

I've tried 4 types of ammo so far. American Eagle, Federal blue box bulk, CCI mini mags, and CCI stingers. It gobbles up everything but the stingers don't feed well. The only failure I had with it was failure to feed on the one mag of stingers I loaded. I had about 4 failures to feed with them.

For the price and the way it chews through federal bulk rounds, that's going to be my number one choice in the future. I have some dislike of the sights though, if I get right up on the cheek rest, It's hard to get low enough to see through the peep sight comfortably. If I extend the stock fully and rest my cheek behind the cheek rest it's fine. I think maybe I'll get a red dot for it anyway.

Here is how she sits now after a couple more goodies arrived in the mail:

I've had a chance to run a half dozen magazines through her and have had one stovepipe and a couple of FTFs. I believe the FTFs can be attributed to me not loading the magazine properly but I can't explain the stovepipe. It lodged in there good and took a few seconds for me to clear. I need to give her a good cleaning and then I will try her out again to see if I run into any more issues. I was using Mini Mags and then Federal bulk once I ran out.

One other thing, I just added the HK GSG-5 push pins to replace those stupid screws. The grip is now a little loose in the receiver and wiggles slightly. Will that cause any reliability issues or will it be ok? I'd hate to have to go back to the screws...

It shouldn't wiggle with the pushpins in, but I don't imagine you'll have issues with it. You may see the odd light strike depending on the gap created between the internal hammer and the firing pin. I'd say keep an eye on it and keep shooting. Someone smarter than me here probably has a different opinion though.

Lots of fouling on the chamber face will cause a ftf as well. Issc kindly includes a little bent brush to clean it out which I always have at the range with me.

You guys can also remove the magazine safety on these. I personally did as it makes it easy to shoot out a last round if I don't have an empty mag handy.

So I took her out today and ran a few more mags through her. I am in love with this gun, even more so when I discovered the mag holds 24 rounds. I ran Federal bulk today without a single issue. The slight wiggle from using the GSG-5 pins did not cause any problems. And the cheap AFG2 I put on there made it much more comfortable to hold, highly recommend one for anyone thinking about it. I got the TRS-25 dialed in today and even got a pretty decent 10 shot group at 15 yds with all shots inside the area of a nickel. I tried a group of 24 but lets just say that opened up a little more.
