I just ordered a DA P762 from Canada Ammo ( their pistol + 1000 rounds of NC ammo for $599 deal). I have been thinking about a Tokarev for some time but this seemed more interesting and probably a better pistol to shoot from an ergonomic POV. Not sure what to expect with regards to how Norinco quality/fit&finish will be (I'm a Browning Hi-Power/ S&W/CZ type owner so far so maybe a bit of a snob) but hey, at 299 for the gun how bad can it be? If I have some fun with it at the indoor range this winter I'll consider it money well spent.

Does anyone have range experience with these guns?...anything to watch out for or needing to be tweaked right out of the box?

What's a "DA P762"? I don't see anything with that designation on the CA website?

Norinco, correct?

My friend got this deal, he has a couple of tokarev so it made sense for the ammo. The gun comes packed in grease and after a good cleaning it shot better than you would expect.I have smaller hands and found the grip a bit on the large size. It's a great shooting gun for a great price ( 250 rounds No malfunctions ) You should also get a Tokarev Its a great accurate gun, very underrated in my opinion. Enjoy your new purchase!

The Tok is a pretty nasty piece of work. Cool as a piece of history but nasty as a sidearm. My brother loves it, go figure.

Ok, now I get it. It's Dominion Arms pistol and Norinco 7.62X25 ammo deal. The pistol looks like a Sig clone!

Don't know much about DA firearms. My son picked up a DA AR from CanAm and it seems Ok after being send back once for replacement.
I shoot lots of Norc rifle ammo in 7.62 and 5.56 and haven't had any issues yet. Shoots minute of Service Rifle as far as I'm concerned.

I may be wrong but I believe "Dominion Arms" is just a house brand of Canada Ammo made for them by Norinco......sort of like a President's Choice thing. I suspect if one ordered enough Norinco would make a "gnmontey" 9mm or a sailor723 special edition .45 ;)

It's my understanding that the DA P762 is a Sig clone with the obvious difference of the larger grip due to the size of the 7.62x25 round.

That actually looks pretty neat! Modern handgun design in 7.62 - I think a lot of people wanted that option!

I wonder if it might have been better if someone like CZ, Grand Power or maybe a Turkish clone maker like Girsan had done it and brought a 7.62x25 gun to market for 5-600 but I guess I'll see.......
