Imr 4227 and 405 grain cast in 45/70

Been reading old reloading data but looking for ppl with experience with this powder and 405gr cast.. Loading for a Marlin 1895sbl I have some powder I bought cheap and want to use this imr 4227

I use that bullet and powder in a 577-450 Martini, getting good results. However I use filler as you don't need much powder and the case is huge.

If looking at old loading data Imr 4227 make sure you use powder that says Made in Canada

old powder/data for Imr 4227 -----is different than the new Imr 4227

you have to work up more carefully and be aware there is a difference

If used it in my 45/70 (a ruger) and in a marlin 444 with good results. Just use the data you find and work up.i wasn't at max for accuracy in either cartridges
