Looks like another old faithfull has been retired.

Stock up while you can.

It is no longer listed on the Hodgdon website. Brownells lists it as discontinued by the factory.

If that is so, my Ross will not be happy about it!
My pet load is 44.0 grains of IMR 4320 behind the
Sierra 180 Pro-Hunter.
Fortunately, however, Norma 202 and Big Game
also work well. Dave.

What took so long? I have owned and tried the majority of IMR Powders, and with IMR4064 being so close in Burn Rate to IMR4320, and working so well, IMR4320 seemed redundant and I never saw the need to try it.

How much longer can H4895 and IMR4895 co-exist? Yes I know they're different powders, and can produce different results, but they compete with each other.

That's too bad IMR4320 I should have stocked up, replaced Varget with 4320 since Varget's been hard to get. 4320 is a great powder in 300 Savage & 250 Savage, meters really good too.

Fortunately there are other good alternatives for use in 222... but 4320 is my favourite: pour it in level to the neck and seat the bullet for superb accuracy and velocity. (25.0Cgr and even max at 26.0Cgr) Re10X it'll be. I'm assuming it got bumped for or because of "the latest and greatest"?

4320 is a great powder.. used it for many years

Much like everything else as sales are in the creation of new products . . . rifles, scopes, trucks, knives and binoculars . . . makes no difference where you fit into the population.

Anything advertised as new, improved, better with a host of never heard of before options . . . there are two suckers born every time another one dies!

Whenever a manufacturer forces me off of their old product they want to discontinue wanting to push me to their new one, I make it a point to instead go to what their competition is offering.

The "NEW" Enduron powders are upgrades to the older line of IMR powders. The IMR powders are made in Canada and are now owned by the General Dynamics weapons Division and sold by Hodgdon.

IMR ENDURON 4166
https://imrpowder.com/

MR Enduron 4166 is a versatile, match-grade propellant, with the fastest burn rate in the Enduron line. It is an extruded powder with a perfect burn speed for cartridges like 308 Winchester, 7.62mm NATO, 22-250 Remington or 257 Roberts, among other cartridges.

The main features of the Enduron series are copper fouling eliminator, insensitivity to temperature changes, ideal loading density and being environmentally friendly.

This propellant performs comparably to Hodgdon Varget but charge weights are materially different.

IMR recommends always consulting www.IMRReloading.com for the most accurate, up-to-date data.

The first of many I bet. I wondered how long it would be before Hodgdon started discontinuing powders now that they bought Ramshot and Accurate. Now we know.

This might have been in the works for a while. Earlier tonight, I had a look at Hodgdon's burn rate chart, dated november 2019, and IMR4320 is conspicuous by its absence.

Count me as very unhappy as well. 4320 has been my favorite powder since the 80's. Lately I've been using it for 223, 22-250, and 7.5x55. Luckily I have enough for years and will now only use it for the 250 which will make it last even longer. Switching to my H-4831 supply for the 7.5 and I decided to look for a second powder for 223. I only load 55gr projectiles and lighter for the 223. In the past I have had really good success with RL-7 for 223 so today I bought a 5 pounder from Lawry for $120. Look into RL-7 for the 223 for lighter bullets it does work great. RL-7 could be a good alternative for you.

Right now Lawry has RL-7 on sale for $120/5lbs. That's $24/lb kinda unbelievable considering the higher prices for powder these days.

RL-7 can be used for many other calibers as well check it out.

Lawry still has IMR4320 $36.68/lb. Unfortunately their 8lb jugs sold out yesterday:
