Yup, discontinued. Gun shows or dispersal auctions probably best bet to find any, Alternative for big bore BP equivalent loads (if that is what your after) is AA 5744, also a hit or miss to find any but still being manufactured so occasionally it does show up
 
All the SR powders were discontinued early 2015 I believe; at least that's when I first heard of it but it could have just been when the announcement was made. What was left on the market sold and that's it. SR-4759 was discontinued previously, in the 80's or 90's I was told, and was brought back a few years after. I don't know if that'll happen again.

I replaced nearly all my SR-4759 loads with other powders. Mostly H4198 but some IMR-3031.
 
I told everyone I could think of that it was being discontinued, and directed them toward 12 pound kegs getting blown out for 150 bucks. Some are crying now, but I don't know of anyone who bought it then. Such is life, if it was raining soup people would find a reason to not catch any of it. Great stuff for cast bullets and Savage muzzleloaders.

I really liked it for reduced jacketed loads in my 30-06. When I heard in spring 2015 it was being discontinued I looked everywhere I knew and only came up with another two pounds to the one I already had. Now getting into cast and wishing I had more.
 
I am trying HS-6 as a substitute for cast, burn rate should be close enough so I am starting low and working up...........
 
You have a pound of it to spare. I use it too for my savage muzzle loader. I didn't hear that they were going to stop making it until it was too late.

I used to use a lot of 4759 for cast loads. Gradually moved on to 4198 which I felt was better. Using 2400 now in some of 30 cal milsurps. 2400 is my accuracy powder now in my 03A3. Shot up a couple lbs of 5744. Powder of choice in milsurp rifles by Mike Venturino of Handloader magazine. I wasn't as thrilled as Mike. Lots of unburned powder left in bore and accuracy not what I can do with other powders. New Lyman Cast Bullet Manual # 4 lists a lot of accuracy loads with 5744. Worth a try if you can find it.
