IMR 7828 users?

Curious if anyone is using this in 300 win mag or 338 lapua? I am not seeing much for retumbo or h1000 but I have come across a fair bit of this powder. Just want to know if it's worth trying. Thanks
 
I've used it a bit in the 300 Win, and a lot in the 300 Weatherby. Also the 7 Rem, three out of four of my STWs, 257 Weatherby, 270 Weatherby, 270 WSM and even a bit in the .338 Win. Probably some others that I've missed. It's good stuff.
 
We use it in the 300 Weatherby mag and the 7mm STW. Check-out your reloading manuals and see what they offer for most accurate powder, or go to Reloaders Nest and research their successful powders.
 
IMR7828 working great in the .338 Lapua with 250gr Scenars...3000fps+ with no pressure issues and very accurate...Scored some VV570 which is supposed to be the ultimate propellant for the .338 Lapua but I prefer IMR7828...The VV570 is very coarse for the powder meter plus when loaded to the same velocity as IMR7828 seems to have much more of a bite when the rifle recoils...I have been using IMR7828 for decades in the 7mm with fantastic results and am now finding it's use in the bigger boomers is very under rated...Not to mention the IMR powder is less expensive and has always been readily available.
 
I use IMR 7828 in my 308 Norma Mag with both 180 and 200 grain bullets....it is an excellent performer.

The 300 Win Mag is so close to identical, ballistically, that it should work equally well in that chambering.

I have used it in 300 win mag with pretty good results. It gets high velocities with the heavier bullets, check out Hodgdon's reloading data center if you haven't already. You can compare it to other powders for your listed cartridges.

yeah I have used it for a number of years in my 7mm and 300wm and works great in both. I just picked up a 338lm and looking forward to trying it in there as well. I will keep you posted on my finding with it in my lapua.
 
I use it for 338LM with a 225 gr SST and get good results. Was able to score an 8 lb jug a few months ago and still have lots to keep me busy. Works for me better than either H1000 or Retumbo in my gun (110BA).

I use 47gr of 7828 with 2 different bullets.
140grs A-Maxs seated at 3.230''.
142grs SMKs seated at 3.250''.
This load is very accurate on a couple of Swedish M-96s.
Velocity is about 2675 fps.

I have the same rifle and tried the same powders and bullets , IMR 7828 worked best for me as well .

I also tried it in my 7mm Mag and 300 Mag , both those two rifle seem to prefer IMR 4831
