Looks like all I can get my hands on right now is IMR's Hi Skor 800 x powder. I know its flakey and doesn't meter well, but I'm using a single stage press and rcbs balance scale. All loads will be charged manually one at a time.
I will be reloading .40 S&W

Will this powder do?

If it's IMR 800X that means it's a little bit older. Not bad, but odd that older powder would be available (unless you're getting it from someones private stash and not new retail powder). Hodgdon had issues with batches of shotgun powder from the plant in Quebec so stopped contracting the IMR lines of shotgun powders there. They are now made somewhere in the continental US I believe and are branded as Hodgon 800X. The only change on the bottle was the little IMR logo was replaced with a small Hodgdon logo and it no longer says "Made in Canada, packaged in the USA" but just "Product of the USA". The burn rate and characteristics are supposed to be identical so data for one can be used for the other.
