Yes works same way as savage rimfire rifles there all made in lakefield Ontario but all go to the states then brought in buy Canadian importers.
Actually they do not......actually Savage rimfires ship direct from Lakefield to Canadian distributors and dealers
No government has been able to figure it out so far since 1867. We are always willing sellers even when we end up buying back with value added.Actually they do not......
Only Cabela's Canada receives Savage rimfire rifles direct from Savage Canada. The reason is they buy a semi-load of them at a time.
No other Canadian distributor or dealer buys direct from Savage Canada.
They are shipped to the United States, and then sent back to Canadian Savage Distributors, like North Sylva, Big Rock Sports, BowMac Gunpar, and Cariboo Outdoor Distributors.
I was a dealer for close to four years, and just had this conversation with Savage Canada last week in regards to the Savage Revel Classic and Deluxe Lever Action Rimfire Rifles.
I know this sounds ridiculous because it's actually retarded. No different than sending our gun-powder to the USA to be packaged and then sent back here to us at an inflated rate.
We need common sense government, and stop sending our resources to the USA to be sold back to us with inflated prices. Crude oil, gun-powder, and Savage firearms should all stay in Canada to be sold, refined into gasoline, or packaged right here.
Unfortunately Liberals are too stupid to figure this out......![]()

Although I find this hard to believe, I'm certain you would not lie about this. In saying that, were they warranty replacement guns?Well I am a dealer as well and we received a few Savage rimfire deliveries direct from Lakefield in 2024
There is no American importer, the Savage Rimfire Rifles are shipped to the Savage USA warehouse and depot. I believe this is in Massachusetts. From this American Savage depot, guns are shipped either to Canadian Distributors or American Wholesale Distributors. If the American importer has common sense, they'll pay the terriff and any duties to bring it into the states. When they re export it to Canada they'll apply for a credit accordingly. It the Canadian importer has a decent broker and it's clearly labeled as a Canadian product then it should come in duty free, as its a product returning to the country of origin. Even Canadian built cars getting re-imported only pay a fraction of a percent if processed properly.

The conversation I had with Savage Canada last week with their senior gun-smith stated no Savage Firearms will be shipped to Canadian Dealers all while those said guns remain in Canada. Cabelas is the only exception.
Maybe 2025 has new rules regarding these shipments. I do not know the reason why, only what I was told last week.
Out of curiosity, what business do you run in the neck of your woods?
Maybe we should be buying from you?........![]()
Nechako Outdoors. Very cool indeed! No they weren't warranty, although we do have those go to Lakefield as well and returned to us. Could be a new ruling, the last shipment from Lakefield which contained 21 Sharp bolt guns and Revel levers was January 14th

Northland SportsWhat was the name of the Hunting/Sports store in Prince George? It was North of the city, on the left hand side headed to Mackenzie? They had a gun-smith on site there as well. It was on the Hart Highway.
Yes, that’s it!Northland Sports
Indeed!…The Canadian Tariffs are going to be charged on us! Don't lose sight of that please ... the Canadian government is charging tariffs on Canadians
