Hi all,

I'd like to get one of the two pistols mentioned in the title of the thread, although I have been unable to decide on which one would make a better IPSC gun? I've shot both of them and can say that I enjoy the feel of both pistols equally, which leaves only technical prowess and pricing as deciding factors.

Based on the information below, the increased weight of the CZ and the longer sight line radius would make it my first choice. However, the Jericho can often be found at a lower price and has a de-cocker, unlike the base-line SP-01. Thoughts?

CZ 75 SP-01
Weight: 2.6 pounds
OAL: 8.2 inches
Barrel Length: 4.7 inches

Jericho 941
Weight: 2.2 pounds
OAL: 8.2 inches
Barrel Length: 4.4 inches

I chose the Jericho when I picked one up recently. I have yet to fire it withought snap caps, but I'm impressed with the great trigger asa well as the ruggedness and overall finish. Ill be heading to range for the first time in a while this thursday so ill let you know how I like it.

Personally, I was looking to buy the $800 SP01, but chose the Jericho when I got a great price at reliable for $645. The trigger is nicer than the CZ's and I've heared they shoot more accurately, but I think if true would only be because of the trigger. I like the cz's and haven't fired the B.E yet but I don't think you can go wrong with either, so buy whatever feels best. They are after all a very similar in design, built in the same factory if I'm not mistaken.

The CZ trigger is easily lightened to an almost silly light level.

For action shooting I did find that the fiber front sight really helped me get my target acquisition that little bit faster. So I vote Shadow. And there's more bits and pieces that fit the rules that you can swap on the CZ than for the BE.

One comes from Israel and the other from Czechoslovakia. I'd venture to say that they are two different factories.

Actually, IWI has subcontracted most of the work to Tanfoglio in Italy. I know Tanfoglio is a CZ clone and the Jericho is a clone aswell, but I think I was mistaken and thought CZ was subcontracting to Tanfoglio as well.

I have both guns, paid $875 for the Shadow & $625 for the 941 . For me, accuracy is about the same. Trigger pull is better on the 941 out of the box, but they become almost the same after replacing springs on the CZ and firing the first 1,000 rounds. However, I'm still having FTFs with my 941 after about 300 rounds. The firing pin channel had a piece of metal shaving left inside. Certainly not what I'd expected - my CZ was flawless as soon as I stopped feeding it RNFPs. :D
If you only need one, stick with the original. The price difference is there for a reason.

Now THAT I can see as a possible situation. But CZ was making their pistols long before they had any possible access to the Italian factories. That little matter of the old Iron Curtain.... :D
