Just looking for info on the legalities around shooting on public land...
If I'm not intending to harvest an animal, can I go for a drive into a prescribed hunting zone, pull off somewhere, go a certain number of meters from the highway, set up a measured range and do some shooting?
You can camp free I guess, when hunting... its all open wilderness... so same deal?
I might want to go camping, I can always shoot a few wild chickens for dinners.. We did that when I went hunting with my old boss.
I might want to go for an afternoon though with a couple friends... just set up shop and plink.. target shoot etc.
Can someone link me/explain to me the rules for this so I don't end up crawling with fish and wildlife officers?
Especially important, if all i'm doing is plinking.. can i go year round or should i stick to certain times that coincide with hunting?
There's no adventure in a firing range at a gun club, when I really need to get out and explore more!
