In need of some input on a purchase

I'm looking to buy a inexpensive .410 for grouse and rabbits. I came across a H&R Pardner and a Yildiz single shot, both around $220. Both will do the trick but I found the Yildiz barrel to be a little light. I'm worried that if I throw something on top of it I might bend the barrel. The worry I have about the Pardner is that I heard they were being discontinued. Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone have any trouble with either of these? The goods and the bads would be appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't be too concerned about the H&R being discontinued. There are thousands of discontinued shotguns being used.

Both will work but the lil folder can be had with some nice wood grain. I almost buy one based on wood every time I check out prophet rivers site.
Hnr guns have always been popular

I wouldn't worry about the H & R being discontinued they are nice, simple, inexpensive guns. It will last for as long as you do!

Thanks for the advice guys! I ended up buying the H&R and took it out this morning. She's a beauty. I will have to admit that the Yildiz had nicer wood but I planned on the .410 being a truck gun that will get heavy use and abuse so I didn't need something too pretty. The Yildiz would have make a nice backpacker, super light and folds into nothing. That's why my decision was so hard to make. Thanks again

I would have bought from one of the sponsors for sure except for the fact that it would have cost me about $75-100 more because of the pricing and the shipping. I managed to get a local shop to give me a break on the price if I bought a few boxes of ammo with it(5 boxes of shot shells and 3 boxes of slugs). I always try to support the local ma&pa shops wherever I can even though there is a Cabelas and a Wholesale Sports up the road a little ways. And now Canadian Tire started selling firearms in my neck of the woods.
