IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

Got the rifle in today, tried putting the optic on but the hammer pin doesn't seem to want to go fully through on the left side. Anyone else having trouble?

As you see it doesn't go all the way to the left inside the hole.

You'll need to pull up or seat that orange colored plate to get it correctly in. Just play around with it. On my old T81 rifles I had the same issue

What?? I'm a lefty and have zero issues using the same optic on my SR

again misundertooding ... using the kobra rail mount, i have no doubt the pso rail mount is working great for left handed lol ..

so to sum up the pso scope is able to be mounted on the kobra rail system but not tight enough to make it work and both are lefty friendly. i answered to someone that asked to see it.

Ah gotcha, I thought you said before this along with the optic aren't left hand friendly

no for sure. i was surprised as well to see how the open sights are well aligned for a left hand user. i think it is handier than the folder for that but the folder is a great unit on his own as well. seems there are keeper.

I passed on the scope combo. I suspected that an inexpensive 60's era soviet bloc scope mounted on a questionable spec rail may not be the ideal sighting platform. I can shoot iron sights very well and will test for accuracy when I get mine. I bought some hornady black, geco target and have various surplus.

Well… to be fair it’s a 60’s design that’s been around for 60 years.

That’s why I bought two… one scoped and one naked.

There are plenty of videos of Combloc rifles with good ammo shooting 1-2 moa with these scopes. The optic isnt the limitation. Its always the gun.

I picked up my SR from the post office today and much to my disappointment but also not a surprise the Cheek pad latch mechanism does not fit. Its way too tight.... aftermarket SVD cheek pads ALWAYS are -_- tried bending some of the metal bits to stretch the system out, the steel main hook snapped right off lol. Guess its made from hard non malleable steel.

Since that's immediate destruction on use and not wear and tear, I would ask TI send you another on warranty.

I managed to fix it, ironically I had a LCT airsoft SVD cheek pad laying around so I pillaged the steel harness from that. It fit the SR cheek pad and stock setup perfectly without mods lol. The LCT harness is clearly built better.
