IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

That sounds like a very thorough test program, wow!

Do you recommend we do the screw mod for extra stability as per bfiles and some members above ? Seeing pictures of the stock removed and ?2mm of wood in front of the top stock
bolt has me concerned. That thin wood is what looks to have broken for that one member who posted pics. Let us know what you think TI, thanks !

I know you're looking for TI's response on this, but I'll chime in.

Having done the mod I can see how the two pins can be put under some stress; with the weight of the rifle hanging off the grip, the top pin is being pulled against that 2mm of wood, while the bottom pin is working in compression. I don't really see the bottom pin being a weak point, and that's why we've seen the stock break at the top pin.

By placing a fastener at the top portion of the stock, through the back of the receiver, I think a lot of strain is being taken off the higher stock pin.

My two cents.

It will be interesting to see how many more stock rifles fail, vs. how many modified rifles will fail.

SR stands for Sporting Rifle, however that being said there is precedent for intermediate calibre marksman rifles, such as the SIG 550, Tabuk and SPR 300, used by police/military in urban environments

Thanks for the info!

One more question; is the longer piston on the SR meant to smooth recoil further for more rapid and accurate follow up shots then on the rifle or LMG?

I wouldn't worry too much about the warranty of TI, just asked for a replacement for the T81 I ordered a while ago through their service repair email and Henry replied to me right away. They offered me a free replacement for a brand new gun and I can't be happier about the way they treat their customers. Something a lot of dealers simply don't do.

Cool, and yes good points.

Now, please if you’re going to do more…just take a normally equipped SE or SA and chamber it in 5.56. I don’t even care if the magazines are proprietary just…please guys.

Thanks for your work on things as usual.

Does TI provide the transfer reference number by email or does it come included in the parcel or by some other method?

I got an email from CFP Online letting me know "You have a new message in your IWS account (Please do not reply)". Then I had to sign into the Individual Web Services and go to messages.

This might seem like a silly question and I’ve put off asking it.
Coming up on almost two weeks now with no change in order status though.

Curious if anyone around order# 184XX has either had the rifle show up or has some sort of status update when they check their order?

I get they’ve got a decent bit to work through and that others have just had it the scope/rifle show up with out a change online.
Kind of sucks having a chunk of money tied up and not really knowing when things’ll get here.

I'm 183### and mine is still in transit - shipped last week. But - I've got a Canada Post notice saying there is a delay. Because, well... Canada Post.

My order # is 181XX and I still don’t have mine yet, or even shipping info. It still say’s processing…
Don’t worry we will all get our rifles, but truth be told… I’d like to zero mine before the bad weather comes LoL

Still it’s a cool rifle and I’m glad TI brought these in for us to enjoy!

Well damn, I was hoping with 183###s being out, there’s be a good chance of the 184###s going out soon as well. Seems like they might be a little all over the place that. Lol

I fully agree, it would be nice to get things zero’d before the weather gets ridiculous.

It is awesome they brought something else for us to drool over. Even if it is ‘just’ in 7.62x39. Haha
